Alright so here's the deal. I have a Physics Test this weekend, a BOM test last weekend, a temp job (that is taking FOREVER), Labs due for CS 124 every week, a couple labs for CS 235, my second biggest essay of the year due in Writing 150 (not to mention the blog I'm supposed to write on...), I have to learn the Cha Cha because I'm pretty turrible at it, and on top of that I'm supposed to not lose my mind and start shooting people! How can people expect that of me? Oh well. I figured I wouldn't have a life this semester.
Life was pretty easy when I started this project, but I'm a little busier so I've fallen behind. I'll get back on track ASAP but don't expect anything new for a week or two. I want to finish that big project next anyways so... Maybe not very soon at all. Well til next time.
Peace.

Animals
Its amazing what kind of difference a year can make. Once again I hate posting these cuz they're disgustingly gross... Ew... Well here are some from last year. Cats.
Dogs.
Ok... whew... Glad that's over. Here are some more recent ones I don't even know what all these animals are... But here are some quick sketches.
Here are actual dogs. Now you can even recognize them as dogs. I like the one up top right the best!
And today's big drawing was this Moose. I think it turned out alright.
And as always, I hate the quality of my camera...

An Old High School Project
So while doing a little sketching yesterday I stumbled on an old project I never finished. I thought it looked pretty fun so I started adding some depth to it (I wasn't very good with adding dark colors in back in High School). You can see how lightly I used to draw, and then in what looks like an outline around the teeth you can see how deep its gonna be when I'm done with it! You can get the idea of how the whole inside of the mouth (for lack of a better word) will be by looking at the top right corner. I'm pretty much done up there (I think). So here's a quick look at it (the before). I'll re-post it when its totally done (the after).

Computer Drawings
Ok here they are. 3d Models. Rendered and modeled on AutoDesk Maya, incredible software. I really liked doing these. First one was supposed to be the kids sneaking cookies (aka sugar cubes) behind Mom's back. You know, its like a joke?
Ok here is just a NURBS curve. Its Garfield in case you didn't recognize it.... which I certainly hope you did!
Ok here comes my huge Bug Project. It was the last thing we worked on in my Indes 255. These three are early in the modelling project. Here's the same Spider but zoomed out.
From behind.
Ok here they are finished. Cool huh? I got to work on the lighting, the colors, the textures, and the focus on the camera. Making the legs go out of focus as they approach the screen. Click on it to look at a bigger version.
Here was just another look. Its supposed to be up against the side of a house. I didn't do a lot of texture on the wall, but the shadows look awesome!Ok here is just a NURBS curve. Its Garfield in case you didn't recognize it.... which I certainly hope you did!

This is the last one. Just a final look at my Bug.
Some Larger Projects
So this first one is a rather sentimental one to me. Its the only drawing I've had featured in an Art show. Its also one of my first projects that I did. Even though it didn't happen until Senior year.
Most of these are from my Freshman year Art Class. Vastu 101 with Amy Royer as my teacher. She was pretty awesome. Brought in this fresh Apple Cider and shared with us. Soooo good. I thought I was gonna die. Well here are the ones from that class:

The One above is my Final project for my VASTU class. I think I improved a lot from the ones below. Pretty clear how much darker I pushed the pencils. Composed of my Guitar, my iPod, my Sling, my Sketchbook, a box of Cheez-its, and two Guitar tools (capo and tuning spinner thingy).
Oh I really like this one actually. I never finished it but I like the Linear Perspective. It has a huge amount of depth to it. Probably got me my highest grade in the class. The second to last project.
Here was my first project. I was still way too shy on pushing colors. That and I clearly didn't understand the assignment. I kinda shudder looking at it. But it leaves a lot of room for improvement! Not to mention I'm rather partial to the shading I did on the jam bottle.
Ok... here's another cringe. I think it was my second project. I didn't push the colors at all. Maybe I'll go back home and finish it up. Its a self portrait that needs a lot of work still. Especially the hair... ew... hair... That and a self portrait should probably look like me...

Well there they are.
Older Sketches
So here are just a coupe of my sketchbook things. The Trophy is from high school playing with color. I really like what the temperature did to it...Here was one of my first Animation Club clothed figure drawing nights.
Here was a male model (in a speedo) on an official Animation Figure drawing day.
Flower sacks. Gesture drawing
Here's some hands... Not perfect, but I liked them pretty well.
Noses
Its funny how much more drawing I did during Math class than Math... Shh... Don't tell anyone!

All of these were in my Portfolio I sent to the Computer Science, Animation Emphasis, Department. I got denied so you can tell what they thought of it all... Oh well
I wish I could draw
Ok, I don't think anyone will read this. Or at least I don't intend for anyone to. If you are reading this... Wow. Welcome, I guess? Are you sure you don't want to go to my actual blog? Well I guess you can look around. I'm just gonna post a bunch of my sketches and see if I get any better. Hopefully good enough to get into the BYU Animation department. But I doubt I'll ever be good enough for that. We'll see right? That's the point of this blog. This is my electronic sketchbook that filters out everything but some of my favorite sketches, drawings, paintings (hopefully not), 3D models, or actual Animations. Well I'm on Campus but I'll start all this off with my (failed) attempt to get in last year and that portfolio as soon as I get home.
I don't know if I have more than one more chance to get in to the department so I better make sure I'm way better than I was when I tried the first time. Kind of intimidating when you go onto some of the other blogs by people in the department and then look at my feeble drawings... Here's some of my favorite:
http://gettingfancywiththespices.blogspot.com/
http://number2twin.blogspot.com/
http://lilliasaid.blogspot.com/
http://www.jedart.blogspot.com/
Or just go to the compilation of all their blogs... :
http://www.byuanimation.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogsection&id=0&Itemid=272
But that's my dream. I want to get into the department. And I'll do whatever it takes to be as good as them. (Which, of course, I don't need to be. I'm going into the Computer Science side. But they're not exactly untalented either. There's a reason BYU has the number 1 Animation department in the country.)
Maybe this blog will encourage me to draw more and slack off less.
